Most people know that Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson together with Michael Love
was 4/ 5 part of the American pop group which was surfing over the world in the
beginning of the 1960:s.
But not so many know that the four boys had their roots deep in the forests of
Småland in Målilla parish. The cottage committee found this discovery when a
cottage investigation was made.
Christina Lovisa Adolfsdotter was born 1830 in Lindås, Målilla parish. April
7, 1860 she married Adolf Fredrik Carlsson Ståhl, who was born 1838 in Quillemåla,
Mörlunda.
The first seed was planted to one of the most popular groups in the pop story,
which was The Beach Boys from the American west coast.
But this fantastic story had still certainly been unknown if it not was for Stig
Thuresson and Tove Svensson from Målilla.
Stig and Towe was last year walking for a cottage walk and at Adolf Fredriks
cottage in Quillemåla a plastic bag was hanging and inside it the name The
Beach Boys was written, tells Roland Johnsson who is president in Målilla-Gårdveda
Hembygdsförening.
The two-cottage
inventors show Roland Johnssson the document where the name The Beach Boys was
written and then it became full speed.
They had never heard about the group, but I had, told us Roland Johnson.
Roland Johnsson came into contact with Lennart Nilsson in the village Gullabo ,
and he had help of his grandfather and his wife Irene brought him to the place
where the cottage Lindås had been situated many years ago.
Still in life to day are only Brian Wilson and Michael Love. Dennis Wilson died 1983 and Carl Wilson 1998.
The following genealogical table table has been done by Lennart Nilsson from Gullabo parish and shows clear that four of the boys in Beach Boys have their roots in the forests of Småland in Målilla parish.
